In 2023, we will have 1/4 and 1/2 beef options at Packwood Locker in September.
Our price is $4.00/lb. of hanging weight. You also pay the locker separately for processing costs when you pick up your beef.
Total costs and amount of meat you take home vary depending on the size of your cow and the processing choices you make. The average size of a 1/4 beef recently has been approximately 150 - 175 lbs. of hanging weight, which has yielded ~80 - 110 lbs. of steaks, ground beef, ribs, roasts, stew meat, soup bones, liver, and other cuts. Average total costs for a 1/4 grass fed beef recently have been about $750 - $950.
More about our beef: We use regenerative farming practices and rotationally graze our cattle on diverse pastures and cover crops on our farm. We do not feed them grain; we do not use synthetic chemicals or fertilizers on our pastures or hay fields; and we prioritize quality of life and good natural health. We work hard to provide you the healthiest, tastiest grass fed beef we can!
You can reserve a spot for September by putting in a deposit; your entire deposit will apply toward the amount you end up owing us for your cow. If you'd like to order a 1/2 cow, please choose "2" as your quantity.
