If you're never made chicken wings at home, you're missing out on a real treat!
They're surprisingly easy to make and SO delicious, no frying required. We can never go back to restaurant wings!
Our favorite method for making chicken wings is to cook them low and slow in a crockpot and then finish them under the broiler.
You get tender, juicy meat and delightfully crispy skin without oil or a fryer.
To make them:
- Toss 3-4 lbs. of wings with 1 tsp. salt and a 1/2 tsp. pepper.
- Lightly coat your slow cooker with cooking spray. Put chicken in, cover, and cook on low for 4-5 hours, until tender.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Set a wire rack on the foil-lined pan and coat lightly with cooking spray. Broil your chicken until crisp, 15-20 minutes, turning once during broiling.
- Toss in your favorite wing sauce and enjoy!
- Homemade buffalo sauce: Combine 1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot, 6 T. melted butter, and 2 T. molasses.
